The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest Intact and stand-alone caldera, was formulated by the major eruption of a volcano 2 to 3 million years ago. This eruption left the caldera of 600meters higher and a diameter of 16km, floored with fertile volcanic soil and year-round water supply. This ecosystem makes Ngorongoro be the paradise of a huge array of animals from  Big 5 to small ones.

It is only at  Ngorongoro Crater where you will spot all Big 5 animals ( Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo) at the same dramatic natural Zoo. If you want to glimpse the only remaining  Huge Tuskey elephants, a large population of Black African  Rhino and prides of Fantastic Cats  Ngorongoro is the place to be.

 The Park is Populated with healthy black rhino, African Elephant, lion, leopard, and hyena. Apart from Leopards who are a bit tricky to spot as they are living in the highly dense forest of Lerai, the rest of the big 5 can be sighted easily.

Whenever you visit Ngorongoro you are guaranteed to see huge herds of wildebeest, Zebra, and Buffalo. The Crater  is stocked  with  other wildlife animals like , cheetah, jackal, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo and bat-eared foxes etc 

For Aves lovers  this is the  home of approximately 400 species of bird. 

In Nutshell , The caldera of Ngorongoro Crater makes the park to  have its own ecosystem.As animals are naturally “stocked in a zoo” makes migration of animals become impossible , thus  makes  game viewing at Ngorongoro crater to be reliable  throughout the year.

The Only activity which can be done inside the Crater is Game driving. However, there a full range of activities that are offered around the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Walking, trekking, excursions to Olduvai Gorge, visiting Masai families and other tribes are some of those activities.

As the wildlife “stocked” in the crater all the time, Ngorongoro Safari can be performed at any time of the year. For your fullest vacation exploitation we recommend taking this Safari during the low  Season, this is when the traffic on the Crater  Floor is low and  Lake Magadi in the center  Of the crater will have a higher concentration of Flamingos.
