The shortest of all routes which you climb directly to the top without diversification. However, the route is considered to be the most difficult from the bottom until you reach the first camp at Umbwe cave. This session is popular for steep slopes and muddy tracks with rough trails. Besides that, the Umbwe route does not offer stages for acclimatization thus makes the success rate to be very low. If you are looking for trekking adventures this is the route for you.

- Always let the slowest climber in your group take the lead. Not only will this give them a fair chance to summit, but it’ll also allow other climbers to conserve energy.
- Take plenty of snacks. To retain your energy during climbing make sure you pack a lot of Sugary sweets, biscuits, and energy, and chocolate bars.
- Make sure to have a lot of high-quality cotton socks. Good socks will protect your feet all the time . Having dry, comfortable socks are more important than having expensive mountain boots.
- You always have to take extra care against wet weather! Make sure you pack very well in such a way that your garments are not caught by cold.
- Plan to spend not less than 6 nights. The key here, for your success and safety, make sure you spend not less than 6 nights on the mountain.
- Plan to start the climb on a weekday. Monday is the perfect day to start your Trekking. As this day will keep you away from congestion on the routes.
- Approach your climb as you would a marathon, not a sprint. Start climbing slowly, which will help you to reserve energy for the coming days. Starting off quickly will drain your energy so fast that will affect your last days when you will be in need of more energy, cold, and lack oxygen.
